Burma, one of the poorest countries in Asia has been hit by a powerful cyclone, killing over 15,000 people (10,000 of those in one town alone) and leaving many more homeless. The death toll is bound to increase as more information is gathered and the lack of drinking water begins to take effect.
The fact that Burma is a very poor country is hampering rescue efforts as the government is not well prepared to deal with the aftermath of the cyclone, power lines are down and large areas are inaccessible as roads have been flooded and blocked by fallen debris.

I think we should dress up like geography things or famous geographers. But if you really want people to donate you should totally shave your legs! Lol now that is what people would pay to see!

For a way to raise money to help the people in Burma we could have a rounders tournament where people could enter a team to compete and they would pay £1 for each person in the team

To I Love Rivers….. I think we need to knock the idea of leg shaving on the head now!
Do you have any other practical ideas on how we can raise some money?
Remember how difficult it is to get people to stay after school with the school buses so perhaps something easy during a couple of breaks or dinner?
12 May, 2008 at 3:45 pm
Sir, what about dressing like a certain country, or cake/sweet sale everyone buys that kind of thing
12 May, 2008 at 4:13 pm
The shaving of the legs was a good idea!!!!!!!
Rounders wouldn’t work because hardly anyone likes it!!!!!
Dressing up ain’t that good either so maybe like a sponsered competition like naming countries?
It isn’t as good as the shaving of legs but its one you might actually go with!
P.s geogdude will you be meandering down the league with the mighty lcfc?

i think you could do a sponsered footy match, swimming or maybe vote if we can get over a certain target we can have a fun lesson or maybe ask are next teacher if we can have that lesson for fun (fun meaning going on top court and field with ball, skipping rope and otheir stuff ) that is only if we raise enough cash say 1 goal is £100 which is watching something in lesson and another £150 so that can be giong outside for a bit and then so on and so forth but if we raise say £1000 we can have 2 free lessons
13 May, 2008 at 4:53 pm
